BREAK THE SILENCE

Giving voice to the unheard. Standing against shame with truth and courage.

The Reason Behind The Mission

Share

Your Story

Your voice matters. Scripture is full of imperfect, beloved people—God still used them (2 Sam 11; Gen 9:20; Acts 8:3).

Nothing is wasted. God can bring purpose from pain. We overcome through Jesus and the word of our testimony (Rev 12:11).

  • Write a short version of your story—one page or less.
  • Practice telling it until you feel steady.
  • Find safe support—GriefShare, Celebrate Recovery, AA/NA, or a trusted friend.

Shame tries to isolate. Choose community instead. Shout Against Shame

Stand

for Justice

You are worthy and your life has value. Healing takes time; walk at the pace grace gives you.

For such a time as this. Healed people help others heal (Isaiah 61:1).

Like Esther, courage grows as identity and purpose become clear. Community helps us step into the work we were made for (Esther 4:14; Isaiah 61:3).

  • Ask God where He wants you to serve; He equips the called (Prov 19:21).
  • Impact doesn’t require a stage—kindness in DC or wherever you live matters.
  • Your voice matters across the spectrum—from quiet support to public advocacy.
When You’re at Ground Zero…

Surrender

At Shout Against Shame, we’ve seen healing begin as we surrender our hurt to God. Our founder Alaina Love’s journey reminds us that God meets us—even in broken places.

“Death lost its sting in Jesus. We don’t have to feel condemned for past choices. God uses the worst things for good. This isn’t the end; it’s a beginning.”
— Alaina Love

God works through fully-human, fully-loved people—tattooed, colorful, battle-tested. Alaina was taken by fentanyl poisoning; even in grief, her story keeps pointing to hope and to the good news.

God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called. Your “yes” matters.

On August 23, 2022 Alaina Love, age 22, became a victim of fentanyl poisoning.  Alaina was a picture image of the good news found in Jesus.  Like all of us, she was an imperfect human, saved only by Grace.  Click here to see her bold obituary.

In her memory we SHOUT AGAINST SHAME affiliated with trauma, sexual assault, and substance use.

Our mission is simple.  Revelation 12:11 states we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.  We believe that healing is found first in Jesus, and thereafter as we share our authentic journeys with others.

Our objectives embrace a three fold healing process for those who have experienced trauma, like our Lana had. We aim to help other hurting humans by empowering you to:

    1.    SHOUT against stigma:  We believe before you can find healing, you need to know you are not alone.  It is important for us to shatter myths about trauma, sexual assault, and substance use by providing education and resources on these topics to balance the scales of righteousness back in favor of victims and hurting humans.

    2.    SHARE your stories:  We believe that once you find comfort in knowing you are not alone, you will find your voice among others who share similar stories.  Through these connections and your newfound strength, we want to empower humans to share their stories – no longer shackled by chains of silence!

    3.    STAND UP for justice:  We believe firmly that healed people healed people and it is our hope that once the humans we so love find healing and hope that they will use their voices to stand up and SHOUT across the nation and world for justice!
